OPAL

We have now begun the process of becoming an OPAL school.

Hi everyone,

I would like to let you know about all the amazing developments that have happened within school linked to OPAL so far this year.

First of all I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has donated bikes, scooters and buckets and spades towards our OPAL (Outdoor play and learning) project. This has enabled more children to access and experience the equipment and has raised the profile of OPAL within school.

We now celebrate our children’s positive play outside as we have a new OPAL star trophy that will be given out once a week. The staff members outside, at break times and lunchtimes, will write down children’s names who have shown an outstanding attitude and behaviour towards their play and they will be put in to the positive play book. Once a week, a child will be chosen from the positive play book to receive the trophy.

We are buying new bike helmets. For health and safety reasons children will be expected to wear these when ever they are using the bikes.

We have introduced new den building equipment this half term too expand the children’s creativity with play and enjoyment of the outdoor field area.

I would like to thank everyone for the help and support towards our OPAL project. I look forward to keeping you updated with all our progress and developments.

Kind regards,

Holly Cooke
