As a school we have a wide range of support for SEMH needs.
We have a dedicated pastoral team who support both pupil and their families. Our pastoral manager, Tara Duncombe can be contacted directly through the school telephone service. Our pastoral team can signpost children and their families to a wide range of external services or organise a team around the family (TAF) so support. They also provide support through PSHCE sessions and lunchtime clubs to help pupils’ social development.
We offer a five day Place2be play therapy service. Children are referred by any member of staff in school but parents can request a referral from the SENCO or pastoral manager.
We have nuture provision in school to support pupil’s social development. We liaise regular with other Durham schools through the nurture group network.
We have enhanced mainstream provision for pupils with significant SEMH difficulties and who are at risk of permanent exclusion. This provision provides specific targeted SEMH support often following the advice of external specialists.
